New Pier on 4th of July
PCBdaily.com has been covering the new pier and the family got to take a first hand look this weekend. As the 6th house just to the west of the Pier, within yards of the new Pier Park (now boasting more signature stores and restaurants than ever), Sea Ease is just too close. Family members couldn’t resist taking a walk down the new structure.
Comments from the family on the opening of the pier were extremely positive. The pier is wider and larger than the old pier. It feels like a boardwalk, with wooden surfacing on both sides of the concrete center. The lights are much nicer at night than the old pier. It’s a whole different atmosphere. It costs a couple of dollars a head for a walking pass, and $10 for a fishing pass, so it’s more expensive, but the family verdict: It’s worth it. It’s a much nicer experience than before, and you get what you pay for.
The fireworks display launched from the pier was, reportedly, spectacular!
I leave you with an interesting article with a video of the area from prior to the 4th.
Where did you spend your fourth of July? I wish I was at the beach with the family. I was a little jealous that they were at Sea Ease without me!
